jalapeno margaritas

yo... i had one of these last night.  good god!  i had to look up a recipe for this.  it's the perfect drink to play supporting actress to a good set of fish tacos.  they can be as mild or spicy as you like.  mine had a little kick to it, but it wasn't overwhelming.  give it a go.  you won't regret it.


  • ¾ cup good tequila

  • ¼ to ½ jalapeño pepper, plus extra slices for garnish

  • ¼ cup Grand Marnier

  • ½ cup fresh lime juice, plus lime slices for garnish

  • ¼ cup simple syrup or fresh squeezed orange juice


  1. add the sliced jalapeño (the more you use, the spicier it will be) to tequila

  2. let seep at room temperature for 15 minutes (the longer it seeps, the spicier it will be)

  3. mix jalapeño-infused tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice and ¼ cup simple syrup OR orange juice

  4. pour margarita into chilled glass, over ice

  5. add lime slices and jalapeños for garnish
